Urgot Champion Overview and Playstyle Guide
Get a clear Urgot overview, from his ranged juggernaut pressure and execution threat to the kiting and spacing patterns that limit him.

Urgot Counter Strategy & Strategy (Patch 16.14)
When to Counter Urgot
Pick Urgot when the enemy team has to walk into your range and your composition wants a side-laner who can also front-to-back teamfight. He is especially effective into melee-heavy drafts that cannot easily avoid his leg procs or respect his execute threshold. Urgot also makes sense when your team already has engage and needs a bruiser who can punish the first target locked down.
How to Counter Urgot Strategy
Fight Urgot around his cooldown windows by dodging the initial E and not gifting him free shotgun angles on all sides of your champion. Long trades are only bad when he keeps rotating around you, so reset spacing instead of standing still in his preferred range. Once he starts threatening execute, disengage earlier rather than testing the threshold.
Urgot Targeted Build Strategy
Knowing Urgot's ideal items helps you build optimal counters.
Urgot Key Weaknesses
Urgot struggles to force contact against champions who can stay just outside his effective range and chip him before he closes distance. His size and low mobility also make missed engages costly, because he cannot easily recover position after committing forward.
Worst Matchups for Urgot
Vayne, Quinn, Teemo, and Gnar consistently frustrate Urgot by keeping him at range and punishing every attempt to step into E distance. Their kiting tools stop him from getting the close circles he needs to maximize leg damage and executions.
Best Champions Against Urgot
Maokai, Rell, Orianna, and Seraphine work well with Urgot because they hold enemies in place long enough for him to walk in and cycle shotgun legs. Their teamfight control also makes his execute much easier to threaten on multiple fronts.
Urgot Counter Tips & Summary
Urgot is a ranged juggernaut who wins through attrition, close-range shotgun bursts, and execution pressure once enemies fall low. He offers lane control against many melee champions and durable midgame damage, but his mobility limits and large frame make him vulnerable to spacing and poke.
