Pick Janna when the enemy team wants to dive hard onto one or two carries and your draft benefits more from denial than initiation. She is especially strong beside immobile damage dealers that become much safer when knockups and disengage reset every engage attempt. Janna also works well in compositions that want to kite backward and punish overextension rather than force every fight forward.
How to Counter Janna Strategy
Do not give Janna easy reactive value by diving in one straight line with everything layered at once. Pressure lane control and force her to use shield and tornado defensively before the real commit happens. Flanks and split-angle engage are much harder for her to answer cleanly than a single obvious entry path.
