Pick Galio when your team already has champions that dive first and want a second layer of crowd control arriving on top of them. He is especially smart into AP-heavy damage profiles and mid-jungle duos that want early 2v2 and 3v3 action. Galio also fits comps that value side-lane cover and fast reinforcement over lane dominance.
How to Counter Galio Strategy
Pressure him with wave control so he spends time clearing instead of moving first to side fights. Do not clump around choke points where a taunt can stall multiple players, and punish the start of his W channel when he has to stand his ground.
