When to Counter Azir
Pick Azir when your team wants a stable scaling mid laner that can control objectives, siege safely, and still threaten big fight swings with Emperor's Divide. He fits especially well with frontlines that give him room to keep soldiers active over long fights. Azir also makes sense when the enemy composition must approach through obvious lanes or cannot repeatedly threaten his backline space.
How to Counter Azir Strategy
Do not let Azir settle into patient front-to-back fights where soldiers and spacing slowly take over the map. Multi-angle engages and flank pressure are stronger than one straight approach through his controlled zone. Forcing him to reposition often makes his damage and his shuffle threat both much less reliable.
